Acting Jakarta Governor, Teguh Setyabudi wants the Islamic Students Association (HMI) to participate in realizing Jakarta as a global city.

According to him, HMI has great potential to become a strategic partner of the government in developing quality and innovative human resources.
The statement above was stated when he attended the inauguration ceremony for the management of Coordinating Board (Badko) and HMI - Wati Corps Coordinating Board (Badko Kohati) of HMI for Jabodetabeka Banten region for 2024-2026 period at Sunda Kelapa Mosque, Menteng, Central Jakarta.

With the issuance of Law Number 2/2024 concerning the Special Region of Jakarta, he explained, Jakarta would no longer be the nation's capital.
Seeing that, Jakarta would be developed into a global city that needed contributions from the younger generation, including HMI.
"Of course, we have the hope that all of you can play a role in realizing the global city of Jakarta," he explained.
He added Jakarta's new status gives Jakarta the authority to be the center of the national economy, including the formation of an agglomeration area with great potential, both in terms of economy, infrastructure, and human resources.
He asserted the importance of synergy between the government and youth organizations such as HMI in developing Jakarta.
"HMI Jabodetabeka Banten can also participate in improving the local economy by encouraging the younger generation to become economic drivers at the community level through innovation and entrepreneurship," he explained.
He hoped that HMI could make a real contribution to improving the quality of life of the people of Jakarta, especially in the fields of education and the economy.
"Hopefully, the cooperation between the government and HMI can produce various innovative programs that can improve the quality of life of the people of Jakarta and achieve common development goals," he closed.
